Mental Health Awareness Week
This week is Mental Health Awareness week and the then this year is loneliness. Statistically people who identify as LGBTQ+ are more likely to be "more often lonely" than those
who identified as heterosexual (51.7% and 36.1% respectively). As per most recent report on ‘Loneliness in Northern Ireland’ by Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency 2019/2020.
This highlights the need for communities and LGBT communities to support each other and to utilise different support systems. Omagh Pride are creating a local community to support each other and to create an event yearly for the wider community.
If anyone is feeling lonely please reach out and see if you can get involved in the local community.
Alternatively, there are a range of Mental Health Groups available if anyone requires support such as:
Lifeline 08088088000
Samaritans 08457909090
SHOUT text service, text SHOUT to 85258
